Bridgend running club is a ‘chip off the block’

Bridgend’s Cwm Ogwr Running Club has received funding to purchase a chip timing system which is set to boost its race events and help the club to attract more athletes. Local energy company, Pennant Walters, provided the £7,000 funding which will now allow the club to put on more professional events whilst also offering the chip-timing facility to other clubs and local schools as a source of revenue. Penygraig Bowls Club has been ‘bowled over’ by the generosity of a local energy company

Local energy company, Pennant Walters, provided much-needed funding to Penygraig Bowls Club which has allowed the purchase of 36 jackets and polo shirts so that the team can now face their opposition in style. The club, which currently has three junior Welsh internationals on its team, is now using the start of the season to appeal to more young local people to join them in playing bowls as it bids to eradicate the decline experienced during the 90’s. Christmas has come early for a school in Nantymoel after thirty iPad’s and seven HD TV’s were installed as it looks to bring a new wave of technology into its classrooms. Catering provision comes to Cambrian Lakeside Trust’s sports facilities

A pitch-side catering van is set to become a permanent fixture at the Cambrian Lakeside facilities after the venue scored funding from renewable energy company, Pennant Walters. Pennant Walters has given £10,000 of funding to Cambrian Lakeside Trust which has allowed the purchase of a catering van, which will be in situ adjacent to the FIFA One Star grade 3G all weather pitch throughout the year. Valleys boxing club is fighting fit after wind farm fund comes to the rescue

Boxers in and around Gilfach Goch are heading into round two after a south Wales renewable energy company stepped in to provide vital funds after the club was forced to shut a year and a half ago. Gilfach Goch Amateur Boxing Club was forced to close after weather damaged the roof during October of 2014 but thanks to a cash injection of £25,000 from Pennant Walters, the club is now up and running. £45k for Rugby Club fence to keep out dog walkers

Thousands of pounds have been donated to a rugby club to build a fence after a player lost his leg because of dog mess.Rugby hopeful Collin Smith was 15 when he lost his leg after his sporting injury became infected from the faeces.Now, Gilfach Goch Rugby Club, near Pontypridd, has been donated £45,000 to stop dogs “causing havoc”. Gilfach Goch RFC kick the season off in style

Bridgend school sets the cycle challenge - Pennant Walters funding increases school cyclists

A school in Nantymoel is encouraging a healthier way of travelling for its teachers and pupils after securing funding from Pennant Walters. Nantymoel Junior School has received over £6,700 which has allowed the purchase and installation of a bike and scooter facility and already the school is reporting benefits. The bike and scooter facility, which was installed at the start of the autumn term, has already made an impact and now more than 20 pupils are using the facility each week.  Read More

BT to Buy 50% of its Welsh Energy from Mynydd Bwllfa Wind Farm

BT is to purchase renewable energy from our latest wind farm development to match the power consumption of around 50 per cent of its Welsh operations.  The company will buy all the electricity generated by the nine-turbine Mynydd Bwllfa wind farm near Hirwaun in South Wales under a 15 year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).  The deal has been welcomed by the Welsh Government.
