Pennant Walters is proposing to construct up to 13 additional wind turbines – producing up to 39MW of energy –predominantly to the west of the company’s existing turbines at Maesgwyn.
Ahead of submitting any planning application we are planning to hold a number of information days to offer the local communities an opportunity to find out more about this project. Members of our project team will be available to answer any questions.
As well as producing clean, renewable energy the turbines will, in conjunction with the existing turbines, contribute to a Community Benefit Fund linked to the amount of energy they generate. To date this fund has supported 18 projects including the construction of a new skate park, infrastructure, equipment and solar panels for local clubs and sponsorship of local community workers. The funding from this project will, over the lifetime of the wind farm, contribute to the transformation of community facilities within the area.
The information days will be held on:
- Monday May 19th, 10am - 8pm at Seven Sisters Community Hall, Brynhyfryd Terrace, Seven Sisters, SA10 9BA
- Tuesday May 20th, 10am - 8pm at Bethania Community Centre, High Street, Glynneath, SA11 5DA
- Wednesday May 21st, 10am - 8pm at Banwen RFC, Banwen Park, Main Road, Banwen, SA10 9HR
Please come along if you would like to discuss any aspect of the proposals with the Pennant Walters project team.
