Pennant Walters has agreed to sponsor the Hirwaun and Mackworth Junior Football Club Under-14’s side which will provide them with a new kit.

The club, which was formed in 2012, has a great youth set up, running teams for 5- to 16-year-olds. Club Secretary of Hirwaun and Mackworth Junior Football Club, Judith Piontecki, is thrilled with the support and said:

“To receive the backing of a local company like Pennant Walters is fantastic. This new kit makes a real difference to our players and has been a great motivator for everyone this season. This sponsorship will help our families and I get a great sense of pride in seeing the kids’ faces when they put on their new Pennant Walters-branded kit. We hope to do the company proud this season!”

The funding from Pennant Walters is linked to Pennant Walters’ 9 turbine 22 MW Mynydd Bwllfa windfarm near Aberdare in Rhondda Cynon Taf, which became operational in Summer 2015. It builds on previous donations which have seen the company provide money to support various local community groups.

Pennant Walters Operations Manager, Harry Llewellyn, said:

“We’re thrilled to play our part in helping this young team to get out and enjoy the great game of football in their local community. Local grassroots sport is vital for the health and wellbeing of our children and, we are committed to supporting and benefitting the communities close to our projects. We wish the Club the best of luck in the future and look forward to following their success.”
