Pennant Walters puts the power into Cynon Valley Schools Rugby Union
This is the tab body content. It is typically best to keep this area short and to the point so it isn't too overwhelming.

All three teams representing Cynon Valley Schools Rugby Union have unveiled their principal sponsor for this year’s fixtures and competitions which will see them facing teams from across Wales and the rest of the UK.

The under 11, 15 and 16 squads, who are each selected to play for their region from across the county through a trial process, have our backing as they start their season.

Pennant Walters has got behind the teams to sponsor all three kits and our funding is linked to the 9 turbine 22 MW Mynydd Bwllfa windfarm near Aberdare in Rhondda Cynon Taf, which became operational in Summer 2015.

The competition kicked off last week with Cynon Valley Schools taking on Pontypridd Schools.

Ceri Type, Treasurer at Cynon Valley Schools Rugby Union, explains:

“All players have gone through a rigorous selection process to get to this stage and are now very proud, and hugely excited, to represent their county. It’s a huge deal for everyone involved, especially those who play at under 16 level, as many are keen to progress into professional rugby.

“We are all hugely excited for the competition and it’s just great to have the backing of a company like Pennant Walters.

“Pennant Walters has been fantastic in understanding the importance of sport in youngsters and this funding makes such a difference. We are confident for the season ahead and hope that we can make Pennant Walters proud.”

Pennant Walters Managing Director, Dale Hart, said:

“We are delighted to support the ambitions of aspiring rugby players across the Cynon Valley area and are looking forward to following their journey. Our wind energy project community funds exist to make a difference to the local communities in which we work - benefitting people directly. We wish the teams the best of luck in their games and will be cheering on from the sidelines.”
