Maesgwyn Extension wind farm is located 2-3kms to the north east of Glynneath in Neath Port Talbot County Borough. The site is located within TAN 8 strategic search area E (SSA E). The 4 turbine site received planning consent in late 2016. The site is accessed from the A4221 via an extension to the track constructed for the Maesgwyn windfarm in 2010.
A single turbine was constructed and connected to the grid in March 2017. The extension is electrically separate to the main Maesgwyn windfarm and connected to the grid via the WPD 33kV network. Three turbines remain to be built.
